From Rafting the Dolores River
Another team entering the serious part of the rapid, empty of almost the entire team.
Island of the Birds
Limestone platform accessible only to birds in the waters off the Dominican Republic. Note that all these little islands are protected parks, and don't have any human visitors. Looks like there could be some good climbing problems, though.
Steel Cliffs w/snow, Mt Hood
The imposing Steel Cliffs, covered with sticky snow. Fortunately, the normal route doesn't go straight up the cliffs, but around and up through the Pearly Gates.
Lands End, Cabo San Lucas
Just about the junction between the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean.
Lands End @ Cabo San Lucas
Last spit of land heading west from Cabo San Lucas; south of this point the sea is open to the Pacific Ocean, making this roughly the junction of the Pacific and the Gulf.
Illumination Rock, Mt Hood
Illumination Rock partway up the standard South Route on Mt Hood. My climbing partner Mike in the foreground for scale. If only the rock were solid, there'd be some cool climbing on those ridges.
Snow at the Pearly Gates, Mt Hood
Snow stuck to the rocks at the Pearly Gates, near the top of the South Side route on Mt Hood, OR.
Hogsback on Mt. Hood, OR
Climbers on the Hogsback, showing the route up to the summit ice fields.
From Motorcycling around North Africa
Back onto pavement! And this time it was usable for the most part. Onward to the capital city of Mauritania.
From Motorcycling around North Africa
The rocky sea cliffs of Morocco were beautiful for days of riding.
From Motorcycling around North Africa
A scenic pullout? No, just taking a short break. It's all scenic. Tiny dots in the background are pink flamingos.
From Motorcycling around North Africa
One of my favorite pictures; just me, the bike, the desert.
Castle Valley in March, Moab, Utah, USA
I took this with a 400mm lens on a digital Canon EOS
African Monkey
I saw this monkey while walking along the trail. I then shot it and ate it. Hmmm mmmm good.
Afrikan Mandrill
I took this photo when hiking along a river full of 10 meter long crocodiles. During the walk I had to kill one of the crocs because it came shooting out of the river running towards me thinking I was its lunch.
